Apple may launch two ‘iPhone SE 2’ models and announce 6 different iPhones in 2020.

According to a new report from DigiTimes, Apple have plans to launch two new ‘iPhone SE 2’ models in 2020. Alongside this, Apple may also have plans to launch 6 iPhone models in 2020.

DigiTimes is saying that this new iPhone SE 2 model will be an upgraded version of the iPhone SE 2, with either a 5.5” LCD display or a 6.1” LCD display. DigiTimes also specifies that these models will be available in 2020.

The previous rumours for the iPhone SE 2 suggested that it would be a 4.7” display inside an iPhone 8-esque chassis. If this rumour is to be believed, this could mean that Apple have plans to launch an ‘iPhone SE 2 Pro’ model with a bigger display and perhaps better processors. I’m just speculating however.

If DigiTimes’ report is true, this would mean that Apple have plans to launch 5 new iPhone models in 2020 – the iPhone SE 2, the iPhone SE 2 5.5”/6.1”, the iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, DigiTimes is claiming that Apple have plans for 6 iPhones in 2020:

“Apple is likely to launch as many as six iPhone devices in 2020 – four OLED models and two LCD ones, according to sources at Taiwan’s handset supply chain.”

The report says that four of the 6 models will be using an OLED display, and the remaining two models will be using LCD displays. However, DigiTimes does not elaborate on what this sixth iPhone may be.

DigiTimes does have a hit-and-miss track record when it comes to Apple, so do take this report with a grain of salt as it could very well not be accurate or true.
