According to Apple Leaker Jon Prosser (), Apple are working on a new Apple TV 4K that could be arriving at “any time”.

The new Apple TV 4K, using the internal codename Neptune T1125, will feature the Apple A12X chip. This would be a huge upgrade over the A10X chip which is in the current generation of Apple TV 4K.

Alongside this, Apple will be doubling the storage on the new Apple TV 4K. The base model of the current generation of Apple TV 4K has 32GB storage, and can be configured up to 64GB. With the new model, Apple will be increasing the base storage from 32GB to 64GB, and can be configured up to 128GB – twice the storage of the max configuration of the current generation.

Prosser says that he has no expected release date for the new product and that Apple could announce it at any time.

The Apple TV 4K was announced on the 12th of September 2017, almost three years ago, alongside the iPhone X and Apple Watch Series 3. In June 2019, it was estimated that Apple had sold 53 million Apple TV units worldwide.
