MacRumors has obtained an internal AppleCare document issued to service providers that informs them of upcoming AppleCare changes scheduled for Tuesday, December 8th at 5:30 a.m. PT.
Normally, these documents are sent to service providers by Apple to alert them of upcoming price changes, product changes, description changes, new SKUs (Stock-Keeping Unit), and more. For example, MacRumors says that similar documents have been released in the past to service providers before several official announcements such as the iPhone 12, the new M1 Macs, and more.
It’s unknown what product Apple will announce on December 8th. It has been rumoured that iOS 14.3 and Apple Fitness+ will be launching on December 8th, but those two things are unlikely to cause AppleCare changes for service providers as neither product are warrantable. Apple leaker @L0vetodream suggested that Apple had a “Christmas Surprise” in store, but didn’t specify what product we might be seeing.
