iPhoneInCanada discovered that Apple has registered two trademarks in Canada for “Apple Card” and “Apple Cash”. Apple applied for both trademarks on the 15th of July 2019, but both were officially approved by the Canadian Government on the 25th of January 2021.
Code recently found inside iOS 14.5 suggests that Apple is intending on announcing an “Apple Card Family” feature. This feature would allow an Apple Card holder to share their Apple Card with family members enrolled with iCloud Family Sharing. Apple may be planning on announcing new Apple Card and Cash locations in addition to Apple Card Family.
Apple Card launched exclusively in the United States in 2019 with no fees, daily cash back, and a titanium credit card with integration into the Wallet app on iPhone. Apple Cash launched in 2017, also exclusively in the US, and allowed users to send money to and forth to other people via iMessage and Apple Pay.
These trademarks being registered in Canada doesn’t mean that Apple have plans to launch Apple Card and Apple Cash in Canada, but it does mean that it’s certainly in Apple’s plans for Apple Card. ‘Apple Card’ and ‘Apple Cash’ are also trademarked in the UK, but Apple have yet to launch Apple Card or Apple Cash in the UK either.
