Apple has officially announced that iOS 14.5 will be releasing officially to all iPhone and iPod touch users next week.
iOS 14.5 brings some excellent new features to iOS, including the long-anticipated Face ID workaround if you’re wearing a mask, App Tracking Transparency, more than 200 new emoji, and more.
If you are wearing a face mask and Face ID detects a covering on your face, Face ID will automatically connect to the unlocked Apple Watch on your wrist to authenticate that it is you. Face ID will then authenticate and unlock your iPhone for you.
App Tracking Transparency is a new feature that Apple first annoyed alongside iOS 14 at WWDC 2020 in June last year. The new feature is designed to allow users to give/revoke their permission to allow apps to track the users’ activity across other websites and apps.
Other big new features include PS5 Dualsense and Xbox Series X/S controller support, Fitness+ AirPlay support, Dual-SIM 5G Support globally, new male and female voices for Siri (US), and more.
