iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models leaked; shows new cameras, smaller notch, new earpiece placement, and more.

Highly reliable leaker DuanRui shared images on Twitter showing the dummy models for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models.

The leaked image shows two of the four new upcoming models, presumably the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. There will be four new models for the iPhone 13 this year, consisting of the 5.4” iPhone 13 mini, 6.1” iPhone 13, 6.1” iPhone 13 Pro, and 6.7” iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The most noticeable change is the camera layouts on the iPhone 13. The cameras have changed to a diagonal layout moving from the Wide lens in the top left to the Ultra Wide lens in the bottom right. The microphone has been moved to below the lens on the top left and the flash module is moving slightly upwards.

On the iPhone 13 Pro, although the camera layout hasn’t changed, the size of each lens has. This has been widely reported and these reports are corroborated by this leak. The LiDAR sensor, microphone, and flash module are not moving.

Lastly, one of the leaked images from DuanRui shows the screen of the iPhone 13. Although it is difficult to see properly due to the display being off and a film being layered on the screen, the notch has significantly reduced in size.

It also appears that Apple have moved the earpiece, which was previously housed amongst the Face ID components in the notch, to sit above the notch and inside the bezel of the phone. This change also contributes greatly to the reduction in size of the notch.

Apple is on track for a September release, unlike last year where Apple had to delay the announcement of the iPhone 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
