Highly reliable leaker DuanRui shared images on Twitter showing more dummy units of each of the four upcoming models of the iPhone 13.
Dummy units normally begin to leak around the Summer before any new iPhone models are announced by Apple. iPhone dummy units are made for case manufacturers so the case designers can create and test their cases on the dummy units so they are ready for release by the time the new iPhone is released.
In the image shared by DuanRui today (above), all four models of the upcoming iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro are shown. This year’s lineup is consisting of the same four models as the iPhone 12 lineup – iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Just like the previously leaked dummy models, there are some noticeable design changes to the rear cameras. On the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini models, just like previous dummy model leaks, the dual-camera layout has been changed from the vertical alignment on the iPhone 12 to a diagonal alignment, with the Wide lens is in the top left corner with Ultra Wide lens in the bottom right corner. The flash module is above the Ultra Wide lens and the microphone is moved to below the Wide lens.
As for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, the rear camera design isn’t changing much compared to their iPhone 12 counterparts. Although the raised rear camera housing and camera lenses appears to be getting bigger, the overall design is remaining untouched.
The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models are expected to be officially announced and released by Apple this September. Apple is reportedly on track for release this September as normal, unlike last year where Apple had to delay the launch of the iPhone 12 by one month due to production delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
