Apple leaker and YouTuber Jon Prosser of FrontPageTech shared a lot of information about the 2022 iPhone, called the iPhone 14, before the iPhone 13 has been officially announced by Apple.
The most noticeable feature about the iPhone 14 renders shared by Jon Prosser is the replacement of the notch with a hole-punch camera in the top centre of the display on the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The Face ID array is under the display and the earpiece sits on the top of the display.
The rear of the phone is mostly flat. The camera bump has been mostly removed, aside from a slightly raised lens.
Prosser says that the iPhone 14 is much thicker compared to the current iPhone models, which increased battery life and helps to reduce the size of the camera bump on the rear. The glass on the rear is “semi-glossy” with the Apple logo underneath the glass rather than etched onto the glass.
The glass sits on top of the antenna bands and the volume buttons are circles instead of rounded rectangles now – both of which are identical to the iPhone 4 design. The chassis surrounding the device is going to be titanium. The lightning port is staying with the iPhone 14.
Prosser doesn’t know what internals are inside the iPhone 14, but it’s likely to be some improvements to camera lenses, processors, memory, storage, and more. Prosser also says that colours of the iPhone 14 are also unknown, aside from a Blush Gold colour that was shown in pictures leaked to him.
Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, AirPods 3rd generation, and possibly a new iPad at the upcoming “California Streaming” event taking place on Tuesday September 14th. You can see a full gallery of the new images below:
