Bloomberg released a new report today stating that Apple’s long-awaited low-cost iPhone will be entering production this month, with an official release arriving in March of this year.
According to the sources that provided Bloomberg with the information, this iPhone will be very similar in design to the iPhone 8. As previously rumoured, Bloomberg is saying that this low-cost iPhone will feature a 4.7” screen, and that Apple will be reusing Touch ID and implementing it into the Home Button.
Bloomberg also mentions that this iPhone will not feature Face ID, and will be using the A13 Bionic chip inside the phone. This is the same processor currently found inside the iPhone 11 series.
Previous rumours have suggested that this low-cost iPhone will be the successor to the iPhone SE, and will possibly be called the iPhone 9. The original iPhone SE launched in 2016, and was discontinued before the launch of the iPhone XS and XR in 2018. Many people have been waiting the next iPhone SE, and it would appear that Apple aren’t too far away from announcing it.
