EarPods and charger removed from iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and iPhone SE box too

At the Apple Event today, Apple confirmed that they would be following in the Apple Watch Series 6’ footsteps and removing the charging brick alongside the EarPods in all iPhone 12 boxes.

However, Apple has since updated all of the “What’s in the Box” descriptions for the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and iPhone SE (2nd Generation) on apple.com to show that the charger and EarPods will no longer be included in the box.

Instead, it simply says at the bottom of the “What’s in the Box” footer: “As part of our efforts to reach our environmental goals, iPhone XR no longer includes a power adapter or EarPods. Please use your existing Apple power adapter and headphones or buy these accessories separately.”

Additionally, Apple have replaced the regular USB-A to Lightning charging cable with a USB-C to Lightning cable, which can be used for fast charging with a compatible charging brick that is sold separately.
