According to Apple Leaker , the rumoured set of over-the-ear headphones from Apple will be called ‘AirPods Studio’.

Prosser says that the codename for the new AirPods Studio is B515, and will be priced at around $349, which is about €320/£280. This will be the first time that Apple have developed their own in-house over-the-head AirPods, and it is expected that these headphones will utilise similar technologies to the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones.

Rumoured glyph of the ‘AirPods Studio’ found in a leaked iOS 14 build

Prosser doesn’t elaborate on when we might see Apple unveil the new AirPods Studio, although recent rumours have suggested that Apple would unveil the new headphones alongside the iPhone 12.

Prosser has also confirmed that the AirPods Studio are not the rumoured ‘AirPods X’, which is expected to be sport-oriented and feature a wire between both earbuds.

Jon Prosser is becoming a reliable leaker, and has successfully leaked the announcement dates of the new iPhone SE and the new 13” MacBook Pro. Both him and his sources are quite reliable, but as with every leak, do take this one with a grain of salt. Nothing is official until Apple themselves confirm it.
