Today, Ben Geskin, a very popular Apple leaker, released concept images of one of the 2020 iPhone prototypes based on information he received.
He says that this prototype iPhone has a 6.7” display with Face ID and TrueDepth camera system housed in the top bezel of the phone.
The biggest thing to note about the concept images he released is that there is no notch at the top of the screen. This is because all of the Face ID housing will be moved to the top bezel surrounding the iPhone. This means that all of the technology that makes Face ID possible, such as the Flood Illuminator, Infrared Camera, Proximity Sensor, ambient light sensor, and Dot Projector will be moved to the bezel at the top of the iPhone (which is pretty cool sounding).
While the iPhone’s front-facing cameras will not be placed underneath the screen, they will be housed in the top bezel of the iPhone, along with the Face ID equipment. The speaker and microphone will also be stored there.
This concept is pretty incredible, and considering that the 2020 iPhone may be receiving an iPhone 4-type bezel, this could shape up to be the perfect iPhone. Of course, this is just a concept and unfortunately, as has happened in the past, these leaks can turn out to be false, so I’d take this leak with a grain of salt.
Thanks to Ben Geskin ( on Twitter) for leaking this information.
