3 new iPhone SE models in development; one may have in-display Touch ID

According to reliable Apple Leaker has said that Apple are working on three upcoming iPhone SE models in various sizes, prices, and Touch ID configurations.

The smallest model included in the leak is 5.5” diagonally, which would make it 0.1” bigger than the smallest iPhone 12 size (rumoured to be 5.4”) and 0.6” smaller than the mid-size iPhone 12 Max and iPhone 12 Pro (both rumoured to be 6.1”). 

says that this iPhone will have a Dual Camera array at the rear consisting of Telephoto and Wide lenses. Alongside this, he says that this iPhone will utilise the upcoming A14 Bionic chip and that it will have a Home Button with Touch ID, identical to the current iPhone SE 2nd Generation.

The next model is a 6.1” iPhone SE that will have the same cameras (Wide and Telephoto) and the same chips (A14 Bionic), but this model will feature an in-display Touch ID sensor. The third and final model is another 6.1” model that will have all the same cameras and chips as the previous two models, but this version will place the Touch ID sensor in the side button.

says that the display size of the 6.1” models will be similar to the design of the iPhone XR and 11. He also says that the information he has shared is a summary of the three models that Apple are working on.

As for the price, the leaker says that Apple are aiming to keep all three models under a $500 price tag. He also says that Apple have only just begun development on these models and that we could be expecting them to arrive around Q2 2020 Q2 2021.

also says that these three models are currently being tested inside Apple’s labs, but only one of these models will get released. It’s likely that whenever Apple do decide to release the 3rd generation iPhone SE, we’ll either get a 5.5” model or a 6.1” model with a regular home button with Touch ID or with Touch ID in the display or the power button.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 12 (5.4”), iPhone 12 Max (6.1”), iPhone 12 Pro (6.1”), and iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7”) in either late September or early to mid-October. This model iPhone SE will certainly be a few months after the aforementioned iPhone 12 models are announced and released.
