Apple have released watchOS 6, the sixth version of the Apple Watch operating system, to all compatible Apple Watches.
watchOS 6 brings a slew of new features to the Apple Watch, such as new apps like Calculator, Voice Memos, and Reminders, iMessage Stickers, Menstrual Cycle Tracking, Hearing Health, and new ways to track your fitness such as Daily Metrics.
If your Apple Watch is running watchOS 5, you can avail of watchOS 6. You can find out what OS your Apple Watch is running by navigating to the Apple Watch app > General > About and you’ll see what OS your Apple Watch is running by view the “Version” panel.
Here’s a list of all the compatible Apple Watch models:
- Apple Watch Series 5
- Apple Watch Series 4
- Apple Watch Series 3
- Apple Watch Series 2*
- Apple Watch Series 1*

Note
- To install watchOS 6 on your Apple Watch, you require an iPhone 6s or later that is running iOS 13
- watchOS 6 is arriving to the Apple Watch Series 5, Apple Watch Series 4, and Apple Watch Series 3 today on September 19th. As for the Apple Watch Series 1 and Apple Watch Series 2, watchOS 6 has been delayed until “later this fall”.
You can install watchOS 6 by navigating to the Apple Watch app > General > Software Update and clicking the “Download and Install” button.
