iPadOS 13 is available now for iPads.

Apple have released iPadOS 13, the new operating system for the iPad. Apple are leaving behind iOS for iPads and introducing this new operating system that is based upon iOS.

iPadOS brings a much more desktop-feel to the iPad. It brings some long-awaited features such as dark mode, new keyboard gestures, a redesigned home screen, improved text selection, QuickType, Font support, and a much better Files app.

iPadOS is compatible with the following devices. You can find out what model iPad you have by navigating to Settings > General > About and you’ll see your iPad model under “Model Name”:

  • iPad Pro 12.9” and iPad Pro 11”
  • 10.5” iPad Pro
  • 9.7” iPad Pro
  • iPad 7th Generation
  • iPad 6th Generation
  • iPad 5th Generation
  • iPad mini (5th Generation)
  • iPad mini 4
  • iPad Air (3rd Generation – the one that launched in March of this year)
  • iPad Air 2

You can install iPadOS 13 by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update and clicking the “Download and Install” button.
