Following the release of iOS 13.3, Apple have released iOS 12.4.4 to all iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices that do not run iOS 13. This means that any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch that is unable to run iOS 13 is getting iOS 12.4.4.
At the moment, it’s unclear what iOS 12.4.4 actually does, but it’s probably just bug fixes and security improvements.
iOS 12.4.4 is available now and is compatible with all of the same models currently running any other version of iOS 12, aside from the devices that are able to run iOS 13. For example, an iPhone XR is not able to update/downgrade to iOS 12.4.4. This update is solely for devices that cannot run iOS 13.
